First monetization flow

Create a tag, a tracked link, then share it or feature it on a bio page.

draft

Turn a product URL into a tracked affiliate destination in three moves: affiliate tag → link → share (direct or via bio). This is the shortest path from signup to a commission-ready URL.

Before you start

  • You are signed in to the correct team
  • You have a marketplace tracking ID (for example an Amazon Associates tag)
  • You know one product or storefront URL you want to promote

Path overview

Affiliate tag → Tracked short link → Share URL
                              ↘
                               Bio page section (optional)

Steps

1. Create an affiliate tag

  1. Go to Dashboard → Affiliate tags (or complete the first tag step inside the dashboard tour).
  2. Click create / add tag.
  3. Enter a memorable name (for example Main or YouTube) and your marketplace tag value.
  4. Save. Mark it as default if this will be your primary ID.

You can add Creators API / PA-API credentials later under tag or settings flows—they improve metadata and search but are optional for creating links and tracking clicks.

  2. Click Create link.
  3. Paste the product URL.
  4. Select the affiliate tag from step 1 (the default tag is used when you leave the selector alone).
  5. Optional: set a custom slug.
  6. Save, then copy the short URL.

Open the short URL once to confirm the destination and that tracking resolves.

Use this when you want one evergreen destination in your social bio.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Bio and create a page (or open your default page).
  2. Add or open a Links / Highlights section.
  3. Add the link you created in step 2.
  4. Apply a simple theme, preview on mobile, and Publish.
  5. Optional: Set as default, then share /@your-slug or a custom bio domain.

5. Verify the loop

  1. Open the shared URL (short link or bio) on your phone.
  2. Confirm the storefront opens and the hop feels instant.
  3. Check Analytics for the click.
  4. Later: connect marketplace reports so earnings overlay your link activity.

Tips

  • One default tag keeps create-link fast; add campaign-specific tags when reporting needs to split channels.
  • Prefer Pointerly short URLs on the bio—not raw Amazon URLs—so analytics stay centralized.
  • Smart routing and bulk import can wait until the first link works end-to-end.
  • If create link fails, confirm the tag marketplace matches the product store, then see Links troubleshooting.
