Appearance settings

Theme, text size, module visibility, navigation layout, groups, and shortcuts.

draft

Appearance controls how Pointerly looks and how you navigate the dashboard for the active workspace. You can set light / dark / system theme, scale text, hide modules you rarely use, choose top bar vs sidebar layout, organize apps into groups, pin mobile destinations, and assign keyboard shortcuts.

Changes require the appearance edit permission. View-only users see a notice that they cannot modify settings.

What you'll do

  • Choose theme and dashboard text size
  • Show or hide modules (disabled items move under More Apps)
  • Pick Top bar or Sidebar navigation
  • Reorder apps, manage groups, pin the mobile bar, and set shortcuts

Before you start

  • Confirm the correct team — module lists differ for creator vs brand profiles
  • Permission: appearance → view to open the page; edit to save changes
  • You already finished (or can skip) onboarding module visibility; the same picker lives here permanently

  1. Under Theme, open the theme control and choose Light, Dark, or System.
  2. Wait for the Theme saved confirmation.

Step 3 — Choose which modules you use

  1. Scroll to Modules.
  2. Use the module visibility picker to enable the areas you work in daily.
  3. Leave niche tools off so they drop into More Apps instead of crowding the main nav.
  4. Visibility is filtered to modules your creator/brand profile can reach — you will not see the other profile’s exclusive items.

You can revisit this anytime (onboarding also points users here for the same control).

  1. Under Navigation layout, choose Top bar or Sidebar.
  2. Optionally toggle mobile bottom bar visibility and whether the More Apps section appears in the sidebar.
  3. Drag to reorder configurable apps; create or rename groups (there is an upper limit on how many groups you can create).
  4. Assign items to groups, reorder the mobile pin list, and capture keyboard shortcuts by focusing a shortcut field and pressing the combo (Escape cancels; plain Delete clears).
  5. Use reset-to-defaults if you want the stock navigation order back.

Tips

  • Prefer System theme if you switch between light and dark OS modes during the day.
  • Hide modules you never open — they remain available via command search and deep links.
  • Creator and brand teams see different module catalogs; switch teams before customizing if you work in both.
  • Shortcut conflicts show an error toast — clear the conflicting binding first.
  • Color / palette controls (when shown for your workspace) sit between theme and text size; save them before leaving the page.
