DM Automation defaults
Team-level default keywords, comment replies, expiry, hard cap, and jitter for new DM automations.
Dashboard → Settings → DM Automation stores team defaults used when creating new social DM rules (keywords, public comment replies, optional expiry days, hourly hard cap, and jitter). Changing defaults does not rewrite existing automations—each rule snapshots its own safety.hardCapPerHour and related fields at create/edit time.
What you'll do
- Open Settings → DM Automation
- Set default trigger keywords and comment replies
- Tune default hard cap / hour and jitter range
- Optionally set default expiry days
Before you start
- Permission to manage team / DM settings (write requires team manage capability)
- Feature

Fields
| Setting | Role |
|---|---|
| Default trigger keywords | Prefill Trigger keywords on new rules |
| Default comment replies | Prefill public comment reply texts |
| Default expiry days | Optional default for automation end date |
| Default hard cap / hour | Prefill hourly send budget (app default 500 if unset) |

Tips
- Raising the default hard cap only affects new rules unless you edit existing ones (or use an ops hard-cap script).
- Per-account rate buckets are shared across all rules on that Instagram/Facebook account—see Retroactive DMs and FAQ.
