Reports troubleshooting

Fix upgrade gates, file parse errors, Tracking ID mismatches, empty imports, and stale link stats.

draft

Use this guide when imports fail, report pages stay empty, Tracking IDs do not match, or link conversions do not update after an import.

Outcome

You isolate plan/permission issues, file format problems, and tag mismatches, then re-import or sync successfully.

Before you start

  • Confirm the active team and that you can open Affiliate Tags and Settings → Reports.
  • Note the exact error toast or dialog message.
  • Keep the original export file (do not rename away from .xlsx / .csv / .zip if possible).

Common problems

Import / View reports locked (upgrade)

  1. Tag menus and Settings cards are gated by store features (amazon_tag_reports, ebay_tag_reports, walmart_tag_reports).
  2. If you see a lock or “Upgrade to access sales reports by tag,” open Dashboard → Billing.
  3. Upgrade to a plan that includes tag reports (Individual or higher), then retry.

File rejected (type, size, or parse)

Message / symptomWhat to try
File too large (max 10 MB)Export a shorter period or remove extra sheets outside Amazon’s download
File must be .xlsx, .csv, or .zipUse Amazon’s Fee Statement download; do not convert to .xls only
Failed to parse / not a recognized reportConfirm Fee Statement, Linked-Product, or SPCC—not an unrelated spreadsheet
CSV is not a recognized SPCC exportUse the Sponsored Products for Creators earnings CSV, not a random CSV
No Tracking IDs foundFile may be Linked-Product format—select a tag manually and Import

No rows match the selected tag

  1. Leave the tag empty and click Scan & Import to list Tracking IDs in the file.
  2. Compare each ID to Affiliate Tags → tag values.
  3. Import into the matching tag, or Create tag & import.
  4. Ensure the selected tag’s tag value is set (empty tracking IDs cannot match Excel rows).

Import succeeds but “no new rows”

  1. Re-importing the same data skips duplicates—this is expected.
  2. Download a newer period from Associates / EPN / Impact.com.
  3. Confirm you are viewing the correct tag report and date range.

Tag report looks empty

  1. Open View reports for the tag you imported into (not a different Tracking ID).
  2. Widen the date range; Linked-Product period aggregates may sit on period_end only.
  3. Clear category / exclude filters and set Import to the latest batch.
  4. Confirm the import appears in the Import dropdown.

Tag report with filters that hide all rows
  1. Confirm the import finished successfully for that tag.
  2. Run Settings → Reports → Sync link stats.
  3. Wait for the background job / notification.
  4. Ensure links share the same tag and product ID (ASIN / item / SKU) as the report rows.
  5. See Report reconciliation.

Permission errors

  1. Ask a team admin for reports view/import or affiliate_tags import/reports permissions.
  2. Partnership / read-only tags hide monetary internals—use your own team’s tags for imports.

Tips

  • Amazon Associates Fee Statement is the primary path for commission history; SPCC covers sponsored-product earnings CSVs.
  • Settings → Reports still distinguishes Creators API (product/deals) from sales imports—use imports for charts.
  • Keep Tracking IDs stable; renaming a tag’s display name does not change matching, but changing tag value does.
