Install Pointerly Connect, authorize a team and Amazon tag, and create links from product pages.

draft

Pointerly Connect is the browser extension that creates affiliate and tracked short links on Amazon, eBay, and Walmart product pages, imports Shop lists and earnings reports, syncs Creator Connections campaigns, and can generate AI copy using your team credits.

Manage install and connection status under Dashboard → Settings → Extension (feature-gated as Browser Extension).

What you'll do

  • Install for Chrome or Safari
  • Connect with a team that has extension:connect permission and an Amazon tag
  • Use product-page actions and keep the extension updated

Before you start

  • Correct Pointerly account signed in
  • Plan includes the browser extension feature
  • At least one Amazon affiliate tag on a team you can connect
  • Owner/admin (or a member granted Browser Extension & CLI) on that team

Install

Chrome

  1. Open Dashboard → Settings → Extension.
  2. If status is not installed, click Install Extension (Chrome Web Store).
  3. Pin the extension and allow it on Pointerly hub origins if prompted.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Install from the Mac App Store when the listing is available.
  2. Enable the extension in Safari → Settings → Extensions.
  3. Allow it for your Pointerly site (Safari uses a page bridge instead of Chrome’s externally_connectable ID).

Connect

  1. After install, the status card shows Extension installed and the version.
  2. If you have no Amazon tag, add one under team / affiliate tags first—the Connect button stays blocked.
  3. Click Connect Extension. You are redirected to /extension-auth with a one-time nonce.
  4. On Authorize Extension:
    • Confirm the permissions (create affiliate links, tracked short links, sync Creator Connections, generate AI content).
    • Select Team and Affiliate tag (own Amazon tags only).
    • Click authorize; Pointerly issues a scoped API key to the extension (not your session password).
  5. Return to Settings → Extension; status should read Connected.

Disconnect anytime with Disconnect (sends logout to the extension).

Tips

  • Re-authorize if you switch the default Amazon tag or team.
  • If an outdated-version alert appears, update via chrome://extensions → Update, or the App Store on Safari.
  • Creator Connections sync needs an Associates login in the same browser profile.
  • Keep Pointerly open on an allowed origin so the hub can ping the extension (Chrome ID / Safari bridge).
