Sponsored workspaces
Brand owners pay for a creator partner’s Individual or Team plan (and optional add-ons) from the Sponsored workspaces Billing tab.
Use Dashboard → Billing → Sponsored workspaces when a brand team you own should pay for a connected creator’s plan upgrade. The creator keeps ownership of their workspace—you pick up the bill on a separate invoice to your card.
This is different from complimentary plan grants (staff/admin). Complimentary access is labeled on Overview; sponsorship is brand↔creator and managed here.
What you'll achieve
- Open Sponsored workspaces from a brand owner workspace
- Sponsor a creator for Individual or Team (monthly or yearly)
- Optionally sponsor add-ons for a workspace you already sponsor
- Stop sponsorship cleanly (creator drops to Free with freezes, not deletions)
Before you start
- Active team is a brand workspace and your role is owner (other roles see a blocked explanation)
- A creator relationship already exists (they invited you, or you invited them)—candidates appear only then
- Creator is on Free (or not already paying / sponsored by someone else)—you cannot sponsor over their own paid plan or another brand’s sponsorship
- Billing permission to complete Stripe Checkout on the brand team
Steps
1. Open Sponsored workspaces
- Switch to your brand team.
- Go to Dashboard → Billing → Sponsored workspaces (
?tab=sponsorship). - If you’re not a brand owner, the card explains to switch teams—sponsorship is owner-only.
2. Choose billing cycle and tier
- Set Monthly or Yearly for new sponsorships (yearly shows the published discount badge when offered).
- On a free creator row, pick Individual or Team.
- Click Sponsor → complete Stripe Checkout. Charges bill to the brand card—one invoice per sponsored workspace.
Creator sees a dashboard banner: plan sponsored by your brand; they keep control of the workspace.
3. Sponsor add-ons (optional)
- On a workspace you already sponsor, click Add-ons.
- Pick monthly/yearly for the add-on, then Sponsor on a catalog row.
- Already active or included-in-plan rows stay disabled.
- Complete Checkout—add-ons bill to your brand card on top of the sponsored plan.
4. Stop sponsoring
- Click Stop on a workspace you sponsor.
- Confirm. The workspace drops back to Free immediately.
- Over-limit content stays frozen (not deleted) until the creator upgrades on their own.
Tips
- Unavailable means already sponsored by another brand, or the creator still pays for their own paid plan (they must cancel first).
- Empty list: connect via invite/partnership first—candidates are relationship-driven.
- Invoices for sponsorship live on the brand Billing → Invoices tab.
- Creators do not use this tab to “accept” payment—they just receive the sponsored plan.
Common questions
Who can sponsor?
Brand owners only, from their brand workspace.
What tiers can I sponsor?
Individual and Team (not Enterprise self-serve from this card).
Does the creator own the workspace?
Yes. You only pay. They keep ownership and day-to-day control.
Sponsored vs complimentary?
Sponsored = brand partner pays via this tab. Complimentary = staff/admin grant shown on Overview—not managed here.
What if they already have a paid plan?
Sponsorship is unavailable until they cancel their own paid plan (or another sponsorship ends).
Where do invoices appear?
On the brand team’s Invoices & History (and Stripe customer), not the creator’s.
What happens when I stop?
Immediate Free for the creator; over-limit items freeze, nothing is auto-deleted.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Card says switch to brand team | Not brand owner / wrong team | Switch to a brand workspace you own |
| No creator workspaces yet | No invite/partnership yet | Invite or accept a creator connection first |
| Unavailable on Sponsor | Own paid plan or other sponsor | Creator cancels own plan, or wait until other sponsorship ends |
| Creator doesn’t see paid features | Checkout unfinished / sync lag | Confirm brand invoice paid; creator refreshes; Sync from Stripe on brand Billing |
| Need Enterprise for a creator | Not offered on this card | Contact Sales / Enterprise proposal flows |
