Publish a post from AI Content
Publish or schedule an AI post to Instagram, Facebook or Telegram from the post viewer: destinations, media, tracked caption links, the keyword-DM rule, and which formats are copy-only.
A post written in Posts & copy can go out from Pointerly through Content Studio (Instagram, Facebook) or a connected Telegram channel. You choose where, with which media, and when.
Where each format can go
| Format | Publish to | Media |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram feed caption | Instagram photo or Reel | Required: a JPEG photo (4:5 to 1.91:1) or a video (9:16 reaches the Reels tab) |
| Instagram carousel | Instagram carousel | Required: 2–10 slides in order, JPEG photos or videos. Instagram crops every slide to the first one's shape |
| Instagram Stories (frames) | Instagram stories | Required: one file per story, in order (up to 7). Stories publish without text or a link sticker through the API, so put the text on the frames |
| Facebook post | Facebook Page: text, photo or video | Text: none (the product link is attached so Facebook shows its preview card). Photo: the product photo is used when you don't pick one |
| Telegram channel post | A connected Telegram channel | Optional photo. A photo caption is limited to 1,024 characters; a text post can be up to 4,096 |
| X post, X thread, Threads, Pinterest pin, Email | Copy only | Copy the text and publish it in that app |
X, Threads and Pinterest are not connected to Pointerly, so those posts can only be copied.
Before you start
- Your plan includes Content Studio publishing.
- The Instagram or Facebook account is connected in Content Studio, or the Telegram channel is connected in Telegram. The panel offers a connect link when one is missing.
Publish
- Open the post (
/dashboard/ai-content?post=…) and pick the first line you want. - Click Publish.
- Choose one or more destinations.
- Add media: pick from your media, upload a file, or use the product photo when the route allows it. For a carousel, order the slides with Move earlier / Move later.
- Choose Publish now or Schedule a time.
- The post shows Published to … under its header, with each publication's status (Scheduled, Processing, Published, Canceled).
You can also publish from the post in the iOS app.
Open in Content Studio hands a single-file post (a photo, a video or a Reel) to the Studio composer. The composer publishes one file per post, so carousels and Facebook text posts are published from the AI Content publish panel (web or iOS), not from the composer.
What Pointerly adds to the caption
- Your selected first line, then the body.
- Hashtags capped for the destination.
- The disclosure and, for Amazon products, Amazon's required statement. These are always kept, even if you edited them out.
- A tracked link per destination: the product link in the caption becomes a Pointerly link with UTM tags for that destination, so clicks from each post show up separately in your analytics. On Facebook, the link can also go in the first comment.
Comment-keyword DMs
If the post's CTA is comment a keyword to get the link, Pointerly creates the DM rule for each Instagram or Facebook destination before publishing (or reuses a rule of the same link that already answers that keyword), and binds it to that exact publication. For a scheduled post, the rule is armed shortly before it goes out.
Instagram and Facebook allow one private reply per comment, so only one rule can answer a post. If another rule already answers the next post on that account, the panel shows the conflict and offers Pause X and use it.
Publish a filmed video script
Video scripts work the same way: mark the script as filmed, then Publish with Content Studio to send the video to TikTok, Instagram (Reel or Story), YouTube (Short or video) or a Facebook Reel. The caption, hashtags, disclosure, YouTube title and pinned first comment come from the script.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| No Publish button | The format is copy only, or the post was written by the previous generator | Copy the text; or write the post again |
| "Out of publications" | Your plan's publishing quota is used | Billing → upgrade or add-ons |
| Photo rejected | Not a JPEG, or outside 4:5–1.91:1 | Export as JPEG and crop |
| A DM conflict blocks publishing | Another rule answers the next post on that account | Pause X and use it, or publish without the keyword CTA |
| Telegram text cut | Photo captions max out at 1,024 characters | Publish without the photo, or shorten |
| The link was blocked | The destination broke the Acceptable Use Policy | See Link safety |
