Posts & copy
Write ready-to-post copy for one format (Instagram, X, Threads, Telegram, Pinterest, Facebook, email) from your products, with A/B first lines, CTA, hashtags and disclosure, then edit, copy or publish it.
AI Content → Posts & copy writes the text of a post for one format, from one or more of your products. Every post follows that format's real limits, puts the affiliate disclosure where the format needs it, and is saved to your library so you can edit, copy or publish it.
Formats
| Format | Shape | Notable rules |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram feed caption | One caption | Up to 2,200 characters, up to 5 hashtags, link in bio (caption links aren't clickable) |
| Instagram carousel | 3–20 slides + caption | Slide text plus one caption, up to 5 hashtags |
| Instagram Stories (frames) | 3–7 frames | Text per frame, link sticker |
| X post | One post | 280 characters, up to 2 hashtags |
| X thread | 2–15 parts | Link in the thread |
| Threads post | One post | 500 characters, 1 hashtag |
| Telegram channel post | One post | Up to 4,096 characters (1,024 with a photo) |
| Pinterest pin | Title + description | Up to 800 characters, link on the pin button |
| Facebook post | One post | Up to 3 hashtags |
| Subject, preview, body | Button link. Amazon links are not allowed in email (Amazon Associates rules): pick another store's product or link to your own page |
Each post includes:
- A/B first lines: two or more openings to choose from in the viewer; the one you pick is used when you copy or publish.
- A CTA that matches the format: link in bio, link sticker, the link itself, a pin button, or comment a keyword to get the link by DM.
- Hashtags within the format's cap.
- The disclosure: an affiliate disclosure placed where the format needs it (above the fold, per slide or frame), plus Amazon's required statement when you promote Amazon products.
Write a post
- Open AI Content and use the composer, or ask Poppy ("write an Instagram carousel for my AirPods link").
- Pick the Format chip, then add products: a Pointerly link, an ASIN or a product URL.
- Click Write post (or Adapt to turn an existing post into another format).
- The post opens in the viewer at
/dashboard/ai-content?post=…, with a preview that looks like the destination (feed, carousel, stories, thread, Telegram, pin, email), live character counters and a checklist of the format's rules.
Writing a post uses one AI credit. On your own OpenAI or DeepSeek key (Settings → AI) it does not use credits.
Edit, copy and reuse
In the viewer you can:
- pick a first line,
- edit the text inline (counters update as you type),
- Copy all, or copy one slide, frame or part,
- Save as template,
- delete the post.
All posts live in the Posts & copy library, which you can filter by format.
Edit a post or script with the AI writer
Viewer edits are free. You can also ask the writer in the AI Content chat to change a saved post or video script ("shorten it", "change the hook"): it edits the post or script you have open instead of writing a new one. Editing doesn't regenerate it, so your edits and shoot progress are kept; the chat message is billed like any other chat message (one credit), with no extra charge for a new generation. The edit is checked against the format's rules like an inline edit. Video scripts work the same way and can also be moved to another platform ("make it for Reels").
Create the DM rule from the CTA
When the CTA is comment a keyword, the post (and a video script) shows Create DM rule. It opens DM Automations with the keyword and the product's link already filled in (/dashboard/social/dm?keyword=…&linkId=…). If that rule already exists, the button opens it. Publishing an Instagram or Facebook post with that CTA also sets the rule up for you (see Publish a post from AI Content).
Publish
Instagram (photo, Reel, carousel, stories), Facebook (text, photo, video) and Telegram posts can be published from the viewer with Publish. X, Threads, Pinterest and email are copy only: copy the text and post it in that app. See Publish a post from AI Content.
What Poppy and Delegated can do
- Ask Poppy to write a post ("a Telegram post for these three links"): it picks the format from what you said, asks only when nothing says it, and shows an approval card with the one-credit cost before writing. The post is saved to AI Content. For a video, ask for a script instead.
- In Delegated Workspace, a request can include a Post step; the post is saved to the customer's AI Content library and the step offers Open post.
- Neither publishes a post on its own: publishing is always your click in the publish panel.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| The post is refused before writing | An Amazon product in an email (Amazon Associates rules) | Pick another format, another store's product, or link to your own page |
| Out of credits | Daily or plan AI limit reached | Billing → AI credits, or use your own key |
| A counter is red | Your edit went past the format's limit | Shorten it; publishing checks the same limits |
| An old post opens read-only | It was written by the previous generator | Write it again with Write post |
