Send a link on WhatsApp with a code
WhatsApp as the third channel of a link's DM automation: the code, the wa.me link and QR to share, what the shopper receives, and the code rules.
A link's DM automation answers on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. On WhatsApp, a follower sends a short code (usually by tapping your wa.me link, which types it for them) and gets that link's card.
Turn it on
- Open the link in Links and open its DM automation.
- In Where should it answer?, turn on Send from WhatsApp.
- Choose the number (all numbers by default).
- Check the code: one is suggested from the product (for example
SONY-WH1000), and you can edit it or add up to 10 codes. - Edit the intro if you want, then Save.
- Share the wa.me link (copy it or use the QR code). It opens WhatsApp with the code already typed.
The phone preview has a WhatsApp tab showing the card the shopper gets. Turning WhatsApp off pauses the trigger and keeps its codes and stats.
What the shopper receives
The link card: image, your intro, the title, the price drop when there is one, See the deal (a tracked link), the disclosure, and a Get daily deals button that subscribes them to your default topic.
Code rules
- The whole message must equal the code (case, accents, edge punctuation and emoji are ignored; spaces, hyphens and underscores count as the same). A message that only contains the code goes to the shop assistant instead, so one message never fires several links.
- 3–30 letters or digits, with single spaces or hyphens.
- Not allowed: START and STOP, generic words (LINK, DEALS, HOLA, MENU, OK and similar in English, Spanish and Portuguese), and the names or keywords of your shop-assistant topics on the same numbers.
- Unique among active codes on overlapping numbers.
Troubleshooting
