Email (SMTP / IMAP / POP3) Integration Guide

Overview
Connect any email provider via SMTP for sending and IMAP/POP3 for receiving — Fastmail, Zoho, Proton Bridge, custom servers.
Adding the app (required)
- Sign in to Pointerly.
- Open Dashboard > Integrations.
- Open Email (SMTP / IMAP / POP3).
- Configure required credentials, webhooks, or external workflow settings.
- Run connection test and save configuration.

Usage (required)
Sync audiences using Email (SMTP / IMAP / POP3)
Use case: Keep application/campaign states aligned with email audience segmentation.
Prerequisites:
- Email (SMTP / IMAP / POP3) connected
- Audience/list selected
- Choose default audience/list in provider settings.
- Configure lifecycle tags and sync behavior.
- Run test sync and verify member/tag updates.
Removing the app (required)
Disconnect from Pointerly
- Open Dashboard > Integrations > Email (SMTP / IMAP / POP3).
- Click Disconnect.
Remove from provider account
- Remove webhook/API key configuration from the provider side.
- Disable external automation scenario if applicable.
Deauthorization implications
- External automation or webhook processing stops.
- New synchronization actions are blocked until configuration is restored.
Troubleshooting
Configuration validation fails
- Verify API keys/webhook secrets are correct.
- Confirm endpoint URLs and callback settings in both systems.
- Run a test event to validate connectivity.
